El passat diumenge, dia 29 de novembre, es va portar a terme la 18a Mitja Marató Ciutat de Tarragona.
Aquesta edició comptava amb un canvi de circuit i amb una major participació, fins a 2000 corredors. (segons informació de l’organització van acabar 1797 corredors). La novetat més destacable ha estat que el punt de sortida i arribada ha estat a la zona de Torres Jordi – Serrallo. Els equipaments esportius que s’hi troben, han premés una millor organització i una millor fluïdesa i facilitat pels corredors.
La resta del circuit, dissenyat més o menys com cada any, era gairebé planer. El primer tram de la cursa i el que es fa més curt, passa per les zones urbanes més significatives de la ciutat, com la Rambla i l’Imperial Tarraco, després, uns quants km transcorren pel polígon industrial Francolí proper a la ciutat, mentre que els km finals els compren la zona més marítima de Tarragona: l’inacabable i llarga escullera, el Passeig de la Platja del Miracle i la zona del Serrallo. El temps finalment ens va acompanyar, tot i que hi feia una mica de fred a primera hora del matí. No va ser fins una hora després de la sortida que va començar a fer xim xim, cosa que no molestava i ajudava als corredors a tenir una hidratació extra.
Com no podia ser d’una altra manera els nostres socis maratonians varen tornar a ser-hi i van acabar molt contents pels resultats obtinguts, amb aquest ja son tres les mitges en les que han participat aquest any 2009, es podria dir que és un any de mitges maratons per als nostres representants.
